So a new iPhone X is going to cost $999? I don’t care what it does, I’m not paying that much for a damn phone. Hell, that’s $9 more than what I paid for my first car! (picture of similar car below)

My first car was a 1993 Volvo 940 turbo wagon. It was acquired for $500.

4 or 6 cylinder? Or, as I suspect, a completely new engine because the original ones in these cars were junk? lol

Meh. It’s all about a personal sense of value. I’ve known people in IT who still held on to their flip phones. Then, I’ve known people for whom having the all-in ecosystem with the latest features is important. As long as people are being fiscally responsible, power to them.
Edit: there are people who will buy these phones but would consider a Mustang 2 to be a waste of $$ at $500.

The Galaxy Note 8 Costs $960. I’m not justifying it, but its the world we live in.

A Mustang II IS a waste of money at $500

They are basically pocket computers at this point. I’m really not that surprised. Kind of a “phone” due to legacy naming.

I paid $970 for my current phone without even flinching. I remember the days of a decent laptop costing $3-5k. From my perspective it’s insane just how inexpensive these things have gotten.

Heh, its a new engine from a bronco, but i think its basically the same ol 2.8L V6? I’m not 100 percent sure, because that particular steed isn’t mine. But i do know the engine is uhm...not the most powerful.
Thats fine though. Our thing is 6 cylinder malaise era american junk.
Our other cars are a pontiac sunbird from 1976 and a corvette from that same year. 6-cylinder power for all.
I have another burner, try to guess it!

This dates me, but that Mustang II was only 10 years old when I purchased it. I thought $990 was a good deal at the time. Of course, I didn’t learn my lesson because after it was wrecked (while being towed!), I purchased a second that pretty much looked like this one (cost = $1000 even). Believe it or not, the Mustang II did not destroy my love for Mustang as I’ve owned three since (a 93 GT vert, my 66 vert, and my current 14 RS3).

People often forget how expensive tech used to be. This phone is the equivalent of owning a digital calculator in the mid 80's.

I know all the shade that’s been thrown at these cars, but I know that me behind the wheel of one would have a huge smile, and that’s all that counts.

And here I was thinking, “Wow, I thought it would be expensive”.
That said, now I have to make a choice: Do I get the new one on AT&T (which I’ve had forever) or VZW (which my wife wants me to do because she’s on it with her parents). I kind of want to keep AT&T because it gives us more options when we might need to use a phone outside the US, but it’s also a big expense to keep them separate... :-/

Is a Mustang II worth more than $1.50? I mean, I might spring for $1.50 for one, but nowhere north of $2.00.

Just yesterday I saw one of these with a ridiculous lift and huge mud tires driving down the road. Were these BOF? If so, it was clearly a mustang ii body on some other chassis, the lift was that crazy. Needless to say, those guys are my hero.

It will still sell like hotcakes, since a lot of people actually finance their phones now and just look at monthly payments.

You’re right it is. The exception is if you are planning to change out about half of the factory stuff in a Mustang II so that it becomes a normal car.
Also just general info: um for all of the models of Mustangs that have appeared in racing videogames, the Mustang II still hasn’t shown up. :P
